Today in the ICT suite Room 12 learned how to add the gadget "recent posts' and also to comment on another persons post. We had to discuss the types of things we could comment on and how we could comment. This was interesting as I thought most would say good boy/girl or well done and not really comment specifically, but they suprised me and were really reflective.
Once we completed this I showed them how to open up the interwrite program and showed them the basics (shape/colour/typing) and got the children to create a page about all the homophones they know. They clicked on super quick and they look really effective.
Our children always surprise us Asri - this shows us that all their learning around reflection during their time at Vardon is now very deep and for most comes quite naturally when making specific comments. I look forward to reading their homophones - hope they share some on their Blogs.
ReplyDeleteHi Asri,
ReplyDeletei agree with Marion about the reflective process being so ingrained in learners at our school by the time they get to your syndicate. I look forward to reading some of their reflections soon.
I wonder what it is that we do specifically to teach and encourage them to use reflective processes? It is important that we keep this up, particularly with a third of our staff changing over this year.
